Layered Tech Appoints Industry Vet as CEO

Layered Technologies, a member of the Talkin’ Cloud Top 100 Cloud Providers, has a new face as the head of the company. Following in the footsteps of former chairman and CEO Jack Finlayson, who has chosen to retire from his positions with the company, is Bruce Chatterley, who is taking over as CEO of the organization.

An industry veteran with experience leading Broadvox, Megapath and Speakeasy, in addition to experience in merging multiple companies into one, Chatterley is a “growth-oriented leader” focused on building up smaller industry players.

“Layered Tech is extremely well-positioned in an exciting and growing market. I am impressed with the team and the quality of service offerings the company is able to deliver to its customers,” said Chatterley in a prepared statement. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this organization, and I look forward to working with Layered Tech’s talented professionals to drive the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Chatterley joins Layered Technologies with more than 25 years of experience in IT and telecommunications services companies, including at ViAir, a Seattle developer of carrier-based mobile messaging software where he served as CEO; web-based travel and entertainment expense management applications firm Concur Technologies, where he was president of e-services and small/middle markets; and positions with Ameritech Corp., US West, General Electric and IBM.

Additionally, Chatterly was appointed to the board of directors of Clearwire in 2011. He served on the board until the company’s sale to Sprint in July of this year.

Under the company’s previous leadership, it had built up its cloud services business, made it into the Talkin’ Cloud Top 100 Cloud Cloud Services Providers list and even made strides into the government space.

With new leadership and—in theorya renewed focus on its existing and future markets, Layered Technologies could continue to push into additional markets and grow significantly as a cloud services provider.
