Kaseya has acquired Intellipool AB, a network performance monitoring company in Harnosand, Sweden. Kaseya CEO Gerald Blackie disclosed the news minutes ago at the Kaseya Connect User Conference in Las Vegas. Addressing roughly 500 MSPs and technology partners, Blackie descried Intellipool as a rival to SolarWinds. Kaseya is also introducing a certification for Kaseya users. Here’s a recap, including an update on Kaseya’s product roadmap.
According to Blackie:
1. Full House: More than 500 partners are attending the event, Blackie estimated. Kaseya had previously estimated roughly 400 attendees.
2. Acquisitions: Blackie said Kaseya has acquired Intellipool, which develops an agentless network monitoring, alerting and reporting platform. Intellipool has more than 11,000 customers across the managed services and enterprise markets, Kaseya asserted. During a brief moment, Blackie compared Intellipool to SolarWinds, the publicly held monitoring company. Blackie also hinted that new financial software is coming, built atop the ObjAcct acquisition from late 2010.
3. Customer Service Organization & Customer Support: Kaseya has expanded service and support teams in Dublin, Ireland, and Auckland, New Zealand, to offer 24×7 support.
4. Customer Feedback: Back in February 2011, roughly 75 percent of customers were satisfied with Kaseya support (44 percent very satisfied plus 31 percent satisfied) and 25 percent unsatisfied. In April 2011, the figure improved to roughly 83 percent satisfied (57.3 percent very satisfied plus 25.6 percent satisfied) and 17.1 percent unsatisfied.
5. Release Performance: “We were too slow; from the last six months I think you’ll notice the pace is quickening,” Blackie said.
6. New Software Releases: Kaseya President Mark Sutherland and Chief Marketing Officer Bob Davis offered the following software updates:
Image Deployment Module: It’s in beta now and scheduled to ship in June, according to Sutherland.
Mobile Device Management: Sutherland mentioned smart phones but didn’t go deep into support details.
KAV 1.2: “The big thing we’ve been waiting for is server support; we’ll have a session on that,” said Sutherland.
KES with AVG 2012: “We have not orphaned that,” said Sutherland. “We’re working diligently and keeping them both and moving forward aggressively.”
Desktop Policy with Intel vPro: “We’ve got full support for the latest vPro,” added Sutherland.
Sutherland also described new enhancements for Service Desk 1.3, Service Billing, directory services integration and policy management.
PSA integration: Davis described coopetition: The need to compete and cooperate with other software companies. With that thought in mind, Kaseya promised tighter integration with the major PSA platforms. It sounds like ConnectWise was the first priority with Autotask and Tigerpaw integration also key priorities.
7. Kaseya Certification: It sounds like the certification testing will start on May 15. It will strive to certify IT professionals on the Kaseya platform. More details later today.The big early news on stage was the Intellipool acquisition.
