Joining Up with Nine Lives Media’s Channel Blogger Team
You remember The Justice League of America? You know, when Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman, et al, all joined up together fight for Truth, Justice, and the American way? Well today I feel like I’m joining the Justice League of the Channel bloggers, teaming up with The VAR Guy and the other folks at Nine Lives Media who work tirelessly to bring you the most interesting and important news and information for today’s VARs, MSPs and Cloud Services Providers.
It was less than a month ago that I left my former employer, Ziff Davis Enterprise (to “spend more time with my family” and “pursue new opportunities”) when it was acquired by QuinStreet. I’d worked at ZDE’s Channel Insider site for five years, most recently as editor in chief. During my time at Channel Insider I felt lucky that my job everyday was to talk to VARs and MSPs and the technology vendors that wanted to partner with them.
But all the while I admired from afar The VAR Guy’s growing empire of channel-related blogs which include the MSPmentor site and last year’s addition to the lineup, the Talkin’ Cloud site. The VAR Guy’s clear love of his work and his unique voice made me wonder what it would be like to work at a company like that.
I was excited last year to find out that one of my former colleagues Charlene O’Hanlon had joined The VAR Guy’s liuneup as a contributing senior editor heading up the flagship The VAR Guy site, while also leading content for webcasts and FastChat videos. Charlene is another ZDE and Channel Insider veteran.
So when I found myself pursing new opportunities, Nine Lives Media was at the top of my list. There were other potential gigs, but I soon took myself out of the running for those because I wanted to work with the Justice League of the Channel bloggers and help them do their good work. I’m so honored to be a part of The VAR Guy’s team and so happy that I get to continue covering the IT channel.
