INTRUST GROUP Continues SMB Managed Services Push

INTRUST GROUP, an MSPmentor 100 company in Cincinnati, Ohio, remains in growth mode. CEO Tim Rettig launched Intrust roughly 19 years ago while he was an engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. Today, INTRUST GROUP manages more than 3,500 servers for SMB customers throughout the United States. Here’s a look at the past, present and future of Intrust.

“We’re the IT department for these companies,” said Rettig. INTRUST GROUP zeroes in on SMBs with up to about 1,000 users, but the sweet spot involves customers with 10 to 50 users. INTRUST GROUP has technology partnerships with companies like Citrix, Connectwise, HP and Kaseya. It became a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner for 2011. The company offers mobile and on-site help desk support, 24×7 network monitoring, defense against spam, virus and spyware, and network infrastructure upgrades.

The core Intrust brands include…

  1. Information Technology Management COMPLETE: An enterprise IT service custom priced for small businesses.

  2. Information Technology Management SUPPLEMENTAL: INTRUST GROUP will manage the infrastructure and handle customer support for overwhelmed IT departments while those departments work on other projects.

  3. Information Technology Management REMOTE: INTRUST GROUP provides support for mobile users and remote offices.

But the company’s greatest value is as an IT consultant. Rettig says Intrust meets with each of its customers on a quarterly basis to educate them on new IT technology and talk strategy moving forward. Watch the video on INTRUST GROUP’s homepage and you’ll notice the emphasis on time management. There are more storage, security and remote services for IT departments everyday. Intrust Group helps their clients select and implement the best tools to grow their businesses so that clients can fully focus on making the most of those applications.

An interesting note from Rettig: INTRUST GROUP is not hearing a huge demand for cloud computing strategies from its SMB clients. The focus has been on virtualization, VOIP, and overall management of servers. That doesn’t mean INTRUST GROUP is ignoring the cloud completely. The Information Technology Management Remote service is most popular among customers that are pushing toward cloud infrastructure. And INTRUST GROUP has a cloud computing education piece at the top of their services page, a sign that they company expects cloud computing to become a bigger part of its strategy.
