Intacct Unifying Salesforce.com, Clarizen in ERP Cloud

Accounting SaaS provider Intacct has released its fall 2011 platform upgrade, bringing a new “consumerized” interface, enhanced tablet and smartphone support, a marketplace for partner applications and, most of all, a new cloud-based ERP system designed to bring the best of Salesforce.com and Clarizen into a complete ecosystem.

Intacct Services Resource Planning, that cloud ERP solution, is obviously the headlining feature. Salesforce.com integration brings the CRM element, Intacct’s own technology for financial management and project accounting, and Clarizen for project management and planning. It all comes together thanks to Intacct’s hard work at three-way synchronization — according to the press release it brings workflow automation for key tasks across all three platforms.

As an extension to the new Services Resource Planning offering, Intacct has signed on as a Clarizen reseller, giving customers one less stop to make if they want to take advantage and bringing deeper technology integration. Pricing for Intacct Services Resource Planning starts at $1,500 per month.

Meanwhile, that new interface definitely shows some Google envy: According to Intacct, the interface brings familiar Google-like elements such as instant search, star-to-favorite, and drag-and-drop. By making the interface more familiar to workers, Intacct said it reduces time-to-value and requires less training. Moreover, the new interface includes a new HTML5-driven mobile website for Apple iOS and Google Android smartphones and tablets.

Finally, the new Intacct partner marketplace, designed to showcase 80 applications that work within the accounting software provider’s technology ecosystem and described as being like the Salesforce App Exchange, will be going live later this month on the Intacct website. Native integration of the store with Intacct apps is coming in Q1 2012.

Of course, the upgrades don’t end there: according to the company, more than 225 other new features also have been implemented following polling response from customers and its 300 channel partners.

I’m curious to see how the industry reacts to integrating no fewer than three cloud platforms into a single solution. If you’re an Intacct reseller or customer, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
