Ingram Micro Cloud to Launch New Version of Odin Platform in Q2

Ingram Micro has announced the next generation of Odin Automation Premium on Monday to help service providers automate cloud, Internet of Things (IoT) and XaaS services delivery management.

According to the announcement, made on day one of the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain, the latest version of the platform is scheduled for general availability in Q2 2017.

The announcement follows the launch of Odin Automation Premium (formerly Odin Service Automation) in July at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. Ingram Micro acquired the Odin Service Automation platform in December 2015 to help service providers consume technology in the cloud.

“Service providers must transform their services and operating models to win in the digital economy, and our next generation platform enables this to happen faster, easier and more efficiently,” Ingram Micro EVP Global Cloud Nimesh Davé said in a statement. “As a result, service providers can capitalize on new revenue opportunities, differentiate their offerings, reduce customer churn and bring higher margin digital services to market faster.”

According to Ingram Micro, the new version of Odin Automation Premium offers end-to-end subscription and catalog management for IoT and new digital services, as well as APS Connect, a new cloud-based service integration automation tool.

With the updates service providers are able to access Ingram Micro Cloud’s catalog of ISVs and cloud offerings. Ingram Micro said that through its federated marketplace, service providers can get to market faster by contracting through Ingram Micro Cloud rather than each individual ISV they want to work with. Odin has 1,700 vendor partners, and offers a single point of contact for support.

Lastly, a new Business Intelligence (BI) module helps service providers analyze customer data to create product and service bundles that fit their customers’ needs.

“Our relationship with Ingram Micro Cloud has been very beneficial to our business, empowering us to dramatically accelerate our time-to-market and deliver new IoT, digital and cloud services seamlessly to our customers through one platform,” Dott. Domenico Gatta, Horizontal Platforms Director of Olivetti (TIM Group) said. “Ingram Micro Cloud’s platform allows us to automate the end-to-end delivery of on-demand digital content, such as movies, music and video games, together with our hotspot connectivity for our connected car solution customers.”
