Goodbye and Hello
If you're a loyal MSPmentor reader, you've surely noticed our new look and feel. But this is more than a site redesign. We've also upgraded our back-end platform. So how will our readers (aspiring and established managed services providers) benefit from these changes? Here are some quick answers.
First, a little background. We launched Nine Lives Media — parent of MSPmentor, The VAR Guy and Talkin' Cloud — in January 2008. Our mission in the IT channel was simple: Disrupt established IT media, and define emerging IT media. By September 2011, Penton Media acquired Nine Lives Media. The deal was an acceleration strategy, not an exit strategy.
The latest signs of that acceleration:
- MSPmentor and our sister sites are now completely hosted in Penton Media's cloud. That transition was completed today. We can now leverage the full power of Penton's IT expertise without building out our own IT staff.
- Jessica Davis joins MSPmentor full-time as managing editor on May 1. Davis has been with us on a contributing basis for more than a year, driving our daily content since early 2012.
- CJ Arlotta recently joined us full-time as associate editor, driving our daily coverage of BDR, mobile device management and more.
- I continue to do what I do.
So how do MSPs benefit from our redesign? The top of the home page gives you a much clearer feel for the big stories of the day, industry personalities and our annual research — which some readers struggled to find on our old site. And the lower-part of the home page gives you a chronological list of our latest content.
I could ramble on and on. But I guess I'll conclude with this: Our heart-and-soul remains blogging. But I hope you'll agree that MSPmentor and Nine Lives Media have evolved into far more.
