Glowpoint Advisory Board Pushes Cloud Managed Video Services
Glowpoint, inc., a cloud-based managed video services provider, has assembled the Glowpoint Advisory Board to help the company identify additional trends and opportunities for recurring revenues, cloud services and managed video services. The board includes executives from top networking and unified communication companies.
The inaugural Glowpoint Advisory Board members include:
- Broadsoft President and CEO Michael Tessler
- Masergy CEO Chris MacFarland
- Global Crossing Chief Technology and Information Officer Anthony D. Christie
In addition to bolstering Glowpoint’s cloud and managed video services expertise, Glowpoint hopes the board will offer insights on unified communications (UI).
Glowpoint’s cloud-based managed video services essentially involves telepresence in the cloud. In February 2011, ABI Research predicted the telepresence market will grow 19 percent annually and reach $1.2 billion by 2016.
Glowpoint is riding that wave. The company recently said Q2 revenues from cloud-based managed video services (MVS) rose 19% to $3.1 million. Plus, cloud-based MVS revenues were 44% of total revenues in Q2, up from 36 percent in Q2 2010. Also Glowpoint purchasing Avaya’s managed services for video conferencing in July.
