EarthLink, the top-ranked managed service provider (MSP) on this year’s MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, this week launched a new version of its myLink customer portal that provides a full-service, integrated gateway for customers to access their EarthLink account and infrastructure.

The Atlanta-based MSP noted myLink provides a secure, centralized site to help customers manage orders, and the updated customer portal, unveiled at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, Florida, offers a personalized interface for users to customize their dashboard views.

myLink now features a “control point” design that gives customers access to all of their data, voice and IT services tools in a single pane-of-glass view.

EarthLink’s customer portal also leverages real-time “drag and drop” widgets. Customers can select predefined widget sets or create custom widgets to organize the right view for themselves or others based on job function or security clearance.

“The portal will change not only how people do business with EarthLink, but how managed services will continue to evolve in providing benefits to our clients,” Mike Fuqua, EarthLink’s vice president of MSP product management, told MSPmentor. “While EarthLink will oversee a customer’s day-to-day network, cloud or security services, and the associated maintenance/support, myLink will assist clients with advice on activities that can benefit their business further.”

Other myLink features include:

  • Location-based views

  • Order status tracker

  • The ability to set preferred alerts and notifications

  • Visual maps

“myLink is not just a tool we hand to customers, but one they will actively customize to create just the right view for their organization,” Brian P. Fink, EarthLink’s chief information officer, said in a prepared statement. “In working with our customers, we actively sought their feedback to create a powerful, impactful and intuitive portal that they would truly want to integrate into their everyday business practices. As we migrate customers to the new portal, the feedback is overwhelmingly positive, and our team is committed to continually improving and growing the environment.”

EarthLink launches PCI Compliance Solutions suite

EarthLink yesterday announced it has partnered with managed security services provider (MSSP) ANXeBusiness (ANX) to launch a PCI Compliance Solutions suite that is “designed to help retailers achieve and maintain PCI DSS 3.0 compliance while providing financial breach protection.”

The PCI Compliance Solutions suite includes:

  • PCI Protect — provides financial data breach protection and a self-service PCI portal

  • PCI Assist — offers guidance on portal usage, vulnerability remediation assistance, a PCI compliance management roadmap and expert assistance

  • PCI Certify — provides customized, expert professional services to validate a self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) or deliver a full-service PCI audit

EarthLink added the PCI Compliance Solutions suite provides managed security services that protect customer data and brand reputation and enhance network security.

“The consequences of a data breach are severe, and that’s why EarthLink … developed this comprehensive suite with financial breach protection and compliance support in partnership with ANX,” Rick Froehlich, executive vice president of EarthLink’s products and consumer division, said in a prepared statement.
