FusionStorm: From Managed Services to Cloud Services
Sponsored Video: FusionStorm, one of the industry’s best-known managed services providers (MSPs), also has a growing cloud services business practice. But how can peer MSPs develop cloud solutions for end customers? In this FastChat Video, FusionStorm Chief Technology Officer Vince Conroy offers some clues and also describes where FusionStorm is heading next.
For those who aren’t familiar with FusionStorm, keep in mind that the company consistently ranks near the top of our annual MSPmentor 100 survey — which identifies and tracks the world’s most successful MSPs. The company is a national provider of IT consulting, technology solutions and 24×7 managed services for enterprises of all sizes.
Listen to Conroy closely and he points to a cloud-based hosting service that allows customers to take applications and run it in a hosted private cloud. The hosted private cloud can be deployed within one of six FusionStorm data centers.
While a lot of VARs are just getting started with managed services and cloud services, FusionStorm has offered managed hosting services for about five years. Plus, the company was among the first MSPs to join Cisco Systems’ Managed Services Channel Program. Cisco relaunched that program in September 2009, and since that time scores of MSPs have joined the program in order to increase their focus on recurring revenue opportunities.
