Canadian managed service provider FlexITy has adopted the Asigra Cloud Backup solution as its go-to platform for backup and recovery services, the company announced this week.

The Ontario-based MSP said it chose to add Asigra Cloud Backup to its managed services portfolio because of the company’s widespread adoption among IT service providers and for the platform’s agentless architecture. An attractive pricing structure and a healthy indirect sales business contributed to the decision as well.

“Asigra’s innovations can be seen in the company’s application, collaborative partner ecosystem and patented Recovery License Model, positioning the company well in the lucrative data protection market,” said Peter Stavropoulos, president and CEO of FlexITy, in a statement.

Asigra Cloud Backup’s inclusion of NIST FIPS 140-2 certification also played a part in swaying the company to adopt the platform, since FlexITy works with vertical market customers in financial services and healthcare, according to the announcement.

“The transition from on-premise data protection to the cloud is taking place now and IT service providers recognizing this will take an early lead in capitalizing on the opportunity,” said Eran Farajun, executive vice president of Asigra. “FlexITy has a successful history in managed services and with Asigra Cloud Backup will expand its role in better serving Canadian organizations today and in the future.”

Asigra unveiled its Converged Data Protection Appliance for Service Providers in June, which was designed to help MSPs secure customer data while boosting recurring revenue.
