Fastest Growing U.S. IT Service Provider: One Source Networks?

One Source NetworksOne Source Networks, an international telecommunications provider, is promoting data and VoIP services into Fortune 1000 companies. The result: One Source Networks is the fastest growing telecommunications service provider on the Inc. 5000, which tracks the fastest growing privately held U.S. companies. How did that happen? President and CEO Ernest Cunningham and Chief Marketing Officer Gina Nomellini offered MSPmentor some details.

From 2007 to 2010, One Source Networks' revenues have grown from $143,208 to $14.9 million, according to the Inc. 5000. (Profit figures were not disclosed, however.) In less than half a decade, One Source has expanded its operations throughout the United States, and now serves Fortune 1000 clients with sites around the world.

"We continue to add products as our clients require," Cunningham said. Today, those clients span a variety of verticals from technology, to health care to legal firms. One Source's bread-and-butter is its range of global network services. One Source also offers a full managed services suite, which includes network monitoring & management, CPE supply & support, a range of cloud-based VoIP and hosted feature solutions. One Source launched the suite in May 2011.

One Source has steadily grown despite stiff competition. Nomellini identified Tier 1 carriers like AT&T and Verizon Wireless as key rivals. What sets One Source apart, she said, is its common interface for clients. "Our clients like to integrate multiple suppliers, which they can do with OSN [One Source Networks]," she said. One Source also uses a network database that includes 150 solution vendors around the world so that they can link clients to vendors in their geographic area.

Another differentiator: One Source does 95 percent of its business through its own sales team. "We want to make sure we have a customer focus," Cunningham said while noting that the company's turnover rate is almost zero. "We've found that going direct is the best way for us.

Next on the agenda for One Source? "We're in the process of packaging cloud-based fax services," Nomellini said. "We're also expanding our endpoints of presence outside the U.S. for cloud and VoIP services." One Source plans to extend those services to Europe and Asia this year, and South America next year.
