Newly appointed eFolder COO Michael Richey says he looks forward to scaling out the platform's back office functions.

eFolder on Wednesday said it has hired a new COO to help with the company’s “next leg of growth.”

The Atlanta-based cloud file sharing and storage and sync provider appointed Michael Richey, who recently served as the chief customer officer for the State of Colorado, as its new COO.

In his new role Richey will lead the introduction of new systems and processes in an effort to continue eFolder’s partner-friendly reputation, the company said.

eFolder CEO Kevin Hoffman said in a prepared statement that Richey will be “instrumental in preserving and strengthening the eFolder culture that partners have come to know and love, even as we grow our team size exponentially over the coming years.”

Prior to serving as the State of Colorado’s chief customer officer, where he aligned IT and business strategic plans, Richey served as CIO and vice president of technology at Fleetgistics, a company that provides custom logistics solutions for same-day shipments.

He also worked as the corporate director of IT at both Seaworld and Anheuser-Busch. During the Anheuser-Busch and InBev merger, Richey managed the integration of the Theme Parks’ IT divisions.

“As the company grows and multiplies the available service offerings, excellence in partner support, training, and logistics becomes more important than ever,” Richey said in a statement.

Richey’s appointment follows the news of eFolder’s original equiment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Acronis, which enables eFolder to distribute Acronis software through eFolder BDR for Acronis, the company’s new disaster recovery solution for MSPs.
