EarthLink (ELNK), ranked first in MSPmentor 501 list for 2014, has unveiled a Managed Network Service that could help businesses improve their network performance.

Customers can leverage EarthLink’s Managed Network Service to “relieve the daily operational burden of network management,” according to EarthLink.

The service also “delivers end-to-end optimization, visibility and proactive monitoring to maximize performance,” EarthLink officials said in a prepared statement.

“EarthLink’s Managed Network Service gets out in front of any issues to optimize our clients’ network performance so that vital applications run at optimal levels, helping them deliver great service to their customers,” Rick C. Froehlich, EarthLink’s executive vice president of products and consumer, said in a prepared statement.

The Managed Network Service’s features include:

  • 24/7/365 monitoring

  • Change management capabilities

  • Incident and configuration management capabilities

  • Performance management and reporting capabilities

  • Real-time dashboard visibility via the myLink customer portal

Additionally, EarthLink pointed out that its team “continuously monitors and proactively manages all aspects of the customer’s network, including network routers, switches, load balancers, WAN accelerators, SSL VPN concentrators and wireless access points.”

EarthLink said its Managed Network Service is available to businesses utilizing either an EarthLink-provided network or a third-party network.

EarthLink recorded $1.18 billion in total revenue in 2014, and the Atlanta-based managed service provider (MSP) continues to explore new revenue opportunities, too.

For example, EarthLink introduced a Managed Security Monitoring Service last month that is designed to monitor customers’ desktops, laptops, networks, point-of-sale (POS) devices and routers to detect security issues.
