Datapipe Adds Former IBM Executive to Lead Global Marketing Plans
Datapipe, a managed service provider (MSP) that offers cloud computing support and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), today named former IBM (IBM) executive Craig Sowell as its senior vice president of global marketing.
Sowell previously led IBM’s cloud marketing and brand management and has successfully launched marketing programs for the MSP channel and chief information officers (CIOs), according to Datapipe.
Robb Allen, Datapipe’s CEO, commented on the announcement in a prepared statement:
“Craig joins Datapipe at a time when the cloud market and hybrid cloud deployments are gaining significant momentum. Enterprises are looking for experts, not just in terms of facility management, but in complete IT solution management, which is where Datapipe excels. As an industry veteran, Craig brings a wealth of understanding and insight that will help Datapipe evolve with the market. We are excited to have Craig’s expertise to help lead the way and look forward to enhancing our global marketing initiatives under his leadership.”
Datapipe said Sowell will be responsible for maintaining the company’s market position and building brand awareness.
He also will spearhead Datapipe’s global marketing initiatives relating to its products and services within hybrid, private and public clouds.
“Datapipe is a company that understands enterprise demands and works to help companies effectively deploy and manage cloud environments,” Sowell said. “For Datapipe to continue to take advantage of the exponential growth in cloud adoption, it will be crucial to build upon three key marketing elements – reach, relationship and depth – especially as new markets and opportunities emerge.”
