SilverSky today announced it is partnering with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corp. (CTC). The partnership will enable both companies to capitalize on the rapidly growing managed security services market in Japan and the Asia Pacific region.

Security-as-a-service (SECaaS) provider SilverSky is partnering with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corp. (CTC) to extend its global reach.

CTC, a Tokyo-based IT solutions provider, will leverage SilverSky to deliver managed security services to its customers.

“CTC is a large, well respected and established technology company. It has a tremendous opportunity to serve as a trusted security advisor with its customers,” SilverSky Vice President of Product Marketing Mike Flouton told MSPmentor.

Both companies also can capitalize on the rapidly growing managed security services market in Japan and the Asia Pacific region, SilverSky said.

“The partnership with CTC will enable SilverSky to expand our global footprint rapidly by leveraging CTC’s great reputation and experience as a leading provider of IT solutions in Japan and across the globe,” Richard Dobrow, SilverSky’s president for the Asia Pacific region, said in a prepared statement.

CTC will launch its managed security business unit (CTC-MSS) and open its first security operations center (SOC) in October.

How will the partnership affect both companies?

CTC-MSS will leverage SilverSky’s security team, internal processes and controls and technology.

The company’s SOC infrastructure will be based on SilverSky‘s Network Security Platform, which is designed to reduce risk and improve compliance.

“Leveraging SilverSky’s deep security expertise will enable CTC to rapidly build a strong, competitive position in the managed security market and strengthen our position as a global, end-to-end IT solutions provider,” CTC Chief Technology Officer Tadataka Okubo added.

SilverSky noted the partnership also represents another step in its global expansion.

“The company has made expanding its footprint in the Asia Pacific region a top priority. The ability to work with a partner as well respected and as large as CTC will be a major accelerator for us as we build momentum in that region,” Flouton said.

This SECaaS provider currently operates a SOC in Manila, Philippines, and recently announced the expansion of its Managed Application Services and Email Protection Services in Asia through a partnership with IBM‘s (IBM’s) SoftLayer.
