Has web application delivery specialist Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) found a new market in companies that provide services to MSPs? Consider the fact that both professional service automation platform vendor ConnectWise and mobile device management platform provider MobileIron have struck deals with the distributed networking and caching company over the past few weeks. Here are the ConnectWise details.ConnectWise has partnered with Akamai Technologies to provide better delivery of its ConnectWise Cloud solution to IT service providers, VARs, ISVs and MSPs. The deal leverages the Akamai Network, which includes caching and distributed networking, to further speed ConnectWise Cloud application delivery.
ConnectWise first rolled out the cloud version of its on-premise PSA software in September 2009, and today CEO Arnie Bellini calls it “a multi-continental cloud architecture.” The cloud version of ConnectWise offers all the functionality of the on-premise version but without the need for on-premise servers or software. The cloud version starts at $39 per month.
ConnectWise says that Akamai’s network of 105,000 servers across 78 countries will enable it to deliver cloud application speeds beyond any other software application in the industry.
