Axcient Signs Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro
Axcient signed an expanded distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, through which Axcient's recovery-as-a-service (RaaS) offerings will be available and sold through Ingram Micro's network of channel resellers.
Axcient signed an expanded distribution agreement with Ingram Micro (IM), through which Axcient's recovery-as-a-service (RaaS) offerings will be available and sold through Ingram Micro Cloud to Ingram Micro's community of channel partners.
The two companies see the overall backup, disaster recovery and business continuity services market as a huge $26 billion opportunity. The latest U.S. distribution agreement was designed so Axcient and Ingram Micro could further capitalize on the growing recovery-as-a-service (RaaS) market.
"From day one, Axcient has demonstrated a strong channel commitment by providing extensive support resources through dedicated, collaborative sales efforts, joint marketing activities and ongoing solutions training,” said Renee Bergeron, vice president of Worldwide Cloud at Ingram Micro, in a prepared statement. "Earning exclusive access to the Axcient business is testimony to Ingram Micro Cloud's proven ability to execute, plan and empower channel partners to successfully sell cloud services by providing them access to the best people, processes and platform available. This expanded relationship more strategically aligns Ingram Micro Cloud with one of the industry's strongest business continuity service providers and enables us to build upon our mutual success."
The agreement is an exclusive one, and Axcient and Ingram Micro are hoping it will continue to enable U.S. channel partners in the RaaS space.

For Ingram Micro's channel partner network, it could provide a good opportunity for delivering RaaS offerings—an area of cloud computing that is growing significantly and should be a part of any organization's backup and recovery initiatives.
