AVG Adds Remote Mobile Security to RMM Platform
AVG Technologies (AVG) has added single sign-on, identity management and multi-factor authentication (MFA) capabilities to its AVG Business Managed Workplace remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform.
The online security company has launched AVG Business Managed Workplace Version 9.1, which features “the integration of remote mobile security.” In addition, this release includes backup and disaster recovery (BDR) management capabilities that enable new site on-boarding in 15 minutes or less, according to AVG.
So what should managed service providers (MSPs) expect from AVG Business Managed Workplace Version 9.1? AVG noted that this release offers the following:
- Full BDR integration
- New user interface
- Simple security deployment for cloud and mobile applications
- Two-tier premium NOC services option
Also, AVG said that its new release leverages an open ecosystem approach that “makes it easier than ever to seamlessly manage popular applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and VMware.”
“Success for us is making it easy for our partners to move to AVG Business Managed Workplace because we know that success for them is being able to deploy and administer IT services easily and flexibly to their business customers,” Mike Foreman, AVG Business’ general manager, said in a prepared statement. “Our centralized approach through a ‘single pane of glass’ user interface integrates the core AVG functionality with industry-standard solutions … for maximum productivity.”
AVG boasts more than 200 million active users worldwide, and the online security company continues to increase its managed services portfolio.
For example, AVG last month released AVG Business Secure Sign-On (SSO), a solution that leverages Centrify‘s identity management technology to help businesses control their employees’ cloud applications and mobile devices.
Francois Daumard, AVG’s vice president of global channel sales, told MSPmentor that AVG Business SSO “fills a gap” for his company’s MSP partners because it enables them to embrace identity-as-a-service (IDaaS).
He pointed out that AVG puts its partners first and is focused on “being a truly partner-centric organization that makes on-boarding and deployment easier” as well.
“Our aim is to provide our partners with the means to use any cloud service within our RMM architecture … and our vision is to help partners and their customers be confident in their choice of services for their business,” Daumard told MSPmentor.
