Global business technology solutions and managed services provider Avanade (a joint venture of Accenture and Microsoft ) has announced an agreement with Nokia to deliver packaged Nokia Lumia Windows smartphones, applications, and services to large enterprise customers . Here are the details.

Avanade will provide enterprise customers with Windows Phone and Microsoft infrastructure expertise to support the pilot adoption and testing of Nokia Windows Phone 8 devices through to production deployments. And while this move seems to promote enterprise and workforce standardization on the  Windows Phone, Avanade made the announcement in conjunction with the announcement of a survey that reveals momentum for the bring-your-own-device trend.

A recent Avanade survey revealed that 54 percent of C-level executives and IT decision-makers report the majority of their employees use smartphones for work functions such as email, web content and calendar invitations. Another 42 percent of employees now want to use their own devices for more complex, mission-critical tasks, such as content creation and customer relationship management.

Avanade recently acquired Azaleos, a top Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) managed services provider focused on Exchange, SharePoint, Lync and mobile device management. Avanade, which is majority owned by Accenture (NYSE:ACN), was founded in 2000 by Accenture and Microsoft.  Avanade has 17,000 professionals in more than 20 countries.
