Arrow Expands ArrowSphere Cloud with RiverMeadow

Value-added distributor Arrow is expanding the offerings attached to its ArrowSphere cloud services platform. Now available to the company's reseller customers is RiverMeadow Cloud Migration SaaS offering.

Value-added distributor Arrow Electronics (ARW) is expanding the offerings attached to its ArrowSphere cloud services platform. Now available to the company’s reseller customers is RiverMeadow Cloud Migration SaaS offering.

Through Arrow, cloud services providers that deal with the distributor will be able to resell RiverMeadow‘s Cloud Migration SaaS as a standalone service or bundled with other cloud services to up the value proposition they are providing their customers.

“RiverMeadow’s Cloud Migration SaaS provides an easy and cost-effective cloud migration solution,” said Jim Livingston, vice president of Services for Arrow’s Enterprise Computing Solutions business in North America, in a prepared statement.

It seems like a good mutual arrangement. RiverMeadow’s offering helps customers migrate their physical, virtual and cloud servers between public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructures, which can give Arrow’s channel partners what is hopefully an easy way to provide some flexibility for their customers. At the same time, it provides RiverMeadow with a larger channel reseller base to help it further gain traction in a market that isn’t quite yet crowded, but is certainly more and more organizations entering the space as competitors.

The ArrowSphere cloud services platform is a system provided by Arrow to its cloud channel resellers. The platform was designed to centralize the billing and provisioning of a variety of cloud services, including on-demand servers and storage, security-as-a-service, SaaS and unified communications delivered via the cloud.

“Arrow offers a dynamic opportunity that enables resellers, integrators and ISVs to provide comprehensive computing solutions and deliver great value to midmarket and enterprise customers,” said Mark Shirman, president and CEO of RiverMeadow Software, in a prepared statement.

This distribution announcement comes closely on the heels of RiverMeadow’s launch of version 2.0 of its Cloud Migration SaaS, which accommodates both Linux and Windows server-to-cloud migrations to automate the cloud migration process.
