Alert Logic’s Secret to Growth: 50 Service Provider Partners
When Alert Logic recently announced 41 percent Q2 revenue growth, MSPmentor wanted to learn a bit more about the managed security service provider’s business model. How is Alert Logic driving growth? The answer, according to Alert Logic Vice President of Marketing Urvish Vashi, involves more than 50 service provider partners that promote Alert Logic’s security as a service offerings.
As a privately held company, Alert Logic doesn’t need to say much — if anything — about its revenues or growth. But the company wants to give partners peace of mind — and confidence — about Alert Logic’s business model. “We think it’s important for our customers and our partners to see [our revenue growth],” Vashi said. “They need to know where we are. They put their trust in us. So we put our revenue on our sleeve.”
Although Alert Logic didn’t disclose net income figures, the company’s decision to discuss revenues helps to put the spotlight on its partner program. More than 50 service provider channel partners have largely exceeded Alert Logic sales goals, the company says.
“About two-thirds of our business comes from our service provider channel,” Vashi continued. “So much of our development is targeted at them.” The rest of Alert Logic’s revenues are driven by enterprise hosters. Vashi hinted that Alert Logic will make an announcement related to its enterprise hosting business sometime in early August, though he didn’t give any specifics. At least not yet…
