ZyXEL Debuts PoE Surveillance Cameras for SMBs
Security specialist ZyXEL launched a line of security cameras aimed at SMB and small office/home office users. The cameras include a variety of features and installation options, including Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), vandalproof housing, motorized zoom and focus and pan-tilt-zoom capability.
The IPC1905 is a PoE bullet camera with both day and night vision and a protective shell for indoor or outdoor use, while the IPC4605N cloud camera now offers PoE technology along with a dome enclosure to provide protection from dust and vandalism.
The company’s professional cameras come in four different form factors including bullet cams (PIC1100 series), mini-dome cameras (PIC2100 series), normal dome cameras (PIC3100 series) and the Pan-Tilt-Zoom dome cameras (PIC4100 series).
The 1100, 2100, and 3100 series are built on a common platform and include features such as 3D noise reduction technology to help eliminate noise in low-light environments, infrared and smart motion detection, and smart picture detection functionality that analyzes and modifies video output in real time.
Featuring 20x zoom, 1080p video, and auto-tracking, the PIC4100 series is designed for covering large areas or tracking individuals in a public area.
All ZyXel professional cameras support the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF), the industry standard for the interface of IP-based physical security products. This support allows the cameras to be added to existing surveillance installations without needing to change the management and monitoring platform, and gives installers flexibility in choice of software for new installations.
It’s not all about software, cloud-based security and virtualization these days — in particular, ZyXEL resellers have strong opportunities to explore the benefits of physical hardware security infrastructure, and can improve profit margins by adding on services such as data storage and management for the security information that must be stored and processed.
