Zoho Projects Adds Collaborative Bug Tracking

Zoho Projects, the SaaS-based project management and issue tracking product of Google Apps competitor Zoho, has announced the addition of a collaborative Bug Tracking Module. They say it’s designed to help developer teams work together to get software projects done. Here’s the scoop.

The Zoho Projects Bug Tracking Module enables users to attach screenshots, video, or any other pertinent file to a bug report, tag it to a specific software module, assign the bug to a specific user, and add a bunch of other optional flags.

As far as actually tracking bugs, Zoho’s blog entry indicates that the development team can filter the bugs list (by status, severity, etc.), show the bug reports that are still open, search for specific bugs, and define workflows to help prioritize and sort them.

And when it comes time to fix the bugs — well, Zoho still won’t do it for you, but they say that the standard collaboration tools like group chat and forums allow for better teamwork when solving problems.

Zoho Projects pricing usually starts at $12/month, but notably, Zoho’s offering it bundled with the Bug Tracking Module for $60/year. It’s an interesting move from an interesting company.
