xTuple Promotes Open Source ERP to Partners
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is serious software. But xTuple, an open source ERP specialist, is injecting some humor into the conversation while building a channel partner program. Here’s the scoop.
In a new marketing package designed for target channel partners, xTuple Business Development Director Danielle Kerner writes:
“It’s a Recession! A Depression! The sky is falling! Run for the hills! Nobody is spending money on anything!”
Tongue firmly in cheek.
Read the partner marketing materials a bit further, and you’ll discover xTuple has more than doubled its sales and internal staff in the past year. Now, xTuple is building a partner program to accelerate that growth. In addition to traditional resellers and consultants, xTuple seeks SaaS (software as a service) partners that want to host xTuple on their own. (xTuple, by the way, has no plans to become a SaaS provider on its own.)
The xTuple partner program push comes a few days after the company announced an online exchange — where customers and channel partners can find and purchase additional software components.
Open Source Partner Programs
Most open source partner programs remain in their infancy, but signs of progress are popping up on multiple fronts.
Red Hat, Synnex and nearly a dozen total companies recently launched the Open Source Channel Alliance, which aims to drive open source sales through 15,000 Synnex resellers. Plus, The VAR Guy’s Open Source 50 report tracks the most promising open source partner programs.
