Trend Micro Updates Channel Partner Programs, Certifications
Cloud security specialist Trend Micro is having a busy week, between yesterday’s announcement of the integration of the company’s Worry-Free Business Security Services into the Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Server 2012 Essentials console and now the launch of enhanced channel programs and certifications for MSP partners.
The enhanced partner program, which goes live in October, includes a new partner portal that will serve as the central hub for all things related to product information, sales tools, training and certification and other aspects of the program, as well as a greater focus on channel certifications for Trend Micro’s cloud and virtualization security solutions.
Certifications for the specializations will be available in the Learning Management System via the new portal, and partners that complete training and certification will be eligible to receive special pricing, bonus payouts and other benefits.
According to Trend Micro’s 2012 global study on SMB channel partners, 78 percent surveyed indicated that they are offering some sort of managed services as part of their channel offering.
With that in mind, and as cloud-based technologies change the face of IT, Trend Micro is also expanding its set of MSP-enabled tools, solutions and incentives and has enriched its portfolio of cloud security solutions and tools designed especially for MSPs.
In particular, the Trend Micro Licensing Management Platform helps Trend Micro partners avoid extra paperwork by allowing them to self-provision licenses and auto-renew licenses and is integrated into cloud-based products like the Worry-Free Business Security Services and Worry-Free Remote Manager, according to the company.
