Tiny: The Next Big Thing in Desktop Computers

There is a lot of talk today about systems getting smaller, thinner and lighter. Tablets have become the norm for consuming content. Customers like them because they can go anywhere, they have long battery life and are easy to use. You can’t really argue with a tablet as a content consumption device.

As of late even more buzz seems to be building regarding a new class of Ultrabooks. The main draw of this segment is, again, the thin and light chassis and the ability to go anywhere.

So where does that leave the humble desktop? And those customers who don’t have $1,500 to spend on an Ultrabook, or companies with employees who need to create and consume content but don’t necessarily need to be “mobile,” where do they go? Well, at Lenovo we don’t stop innovating on any of our product lines, whether it is a notebook, an Ultrabook, a tablet, or even a desktop. So this summer we’ve introduced our new Lenovo M92p Tiny!

The M92p Tiny is our first 1 liter desktop form factor. Think about that for a minute … 1 liter. That’s 7 inches tall, 7 inches deep and less than 2 inches wide.  The entire system weighs less than 3 pounds — lighter than a standard notebook! For your customers where space is at a premium this is a great alternative that no one else has. Education, healthcare, hospitality and retail all are great markets for our new M92p Tiny offering. Tiny works any place where desk or counter space is at a premium. If your customer wants to mount it to a cart, in a closet or even under a desk, Tiny is small enough to fit anywhere.

So now you may ask, “What am I going to lose by going this small?” It’s a valid question. There have been small desktop systems before, but they’ve been Atom-based and unable to manage a full OS or do high level computing with any speed. Or, they’ve been a “thin” device. With M92p the answer is, You lose nothing. This is a Windows 7 64 bit OS-driven system. Our new M92p Tiny is Intel vPro-ready with Intel’s new third-generation Core i5 processor. The graphics in the new generation of Intel processor will allow M92p not only to support three independent displays, but for customers looking for something over and above, Tiny also can drive quad monitor displays in a mosaic mode, showing one huge image across four 23-inch monitors!

When it comes to the spec, we like to say M92p Tiny is nothing special. It will support 2x8GB DIMM for 16GB of memory capability. It uses standard HDD and SSD. It comes standard with four USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, DisplayPort and VGA ports and a Kensington lock slot for security. There is CTO capability to add an additional port that could be either an additional DisplayPort port, Serial port or VGA port. Tiny will also support 802.11 A/B/G/N Wi-Fi.  So nothing special, unless you remember that Tiny weighs less than 3 pounds!

For customers that want to mount Tiny to a desk or a wall there is an optional VESA mount bracket that supports that capability. There’s also a bracket that will allow customers to add a DVD burner, which also provides an additional two USB 2.0 ports. It is a completely integrated solution and adds less than .5 inches to the form factor.

Finally, for your customers where space is truly at a premium, there is an optional bracket that will allow the M92p Tiny to be attached to the back of one of our new 23-inch monitors. The new 23-inch LT2323z VoIP monitor and the new 23-inch LT2323p monitor will both support a rear mount that effectively “hides” the DT for a clean look.

We’re excited to bring this offering to you and want to make sure you have the chance to see it in action firsthand, as there’s really nothing else like it on the market. That said, we’re making it available at 50 peercent off per our Partner Demo Program. You should really take advantage of it. It’s a great opportunity to talk to customers about Lenovo and show them an affordable desktop that is different, innovative and useful. The M92p Tiny offers all that you need to work in peace of mind – the best performance, enhanced productivity and our renowned reliability.

    ThinkCentre M92p Tiny Desktop

    Price: $1,468.00

No way will someone spend that much money, if your spending over $500 you are wasting money.

Newegg was running a sale on new PC’s and I was able to get someone converted to Windows 7 with brand-new Lenevo desktop for $299, now they are selling for lt;$400.00
