Tech Data Shines Spotlight on Symantec
Even as Symantec builds out its SaaS (software as a service) business, the security company is marching forward with traditional channel partners. A recent case in point: Tech Data, the distribution giant, has launched a new 360 square foot solutions room — inside their 6,000 square foot solution center — that focuses entirely on Symantec solutions. Here’s what VARs need to know.
The new solutions center is open and available for resellers to give their end-user customers a real hands-on experience with security and data-protection solutions. All of the usual Symantec offerings are represented, from Backup Exec to Enterprise Vault.
The solution center also includes video conferencing and digital signage for on-site or remote training. “Symantec is focused on giving our partners the solutions and resources they need to drive more revenue and maintain relevance with their customers,” says Symantec Vice President, North America Channel Sales, Randy Cochran.
The take away? Amid all the cloud and SaaS hype, Symantec and Tech Data see continued value in brick-and-mortar demo centers.
