Red Hat Meets Red Sox Nation
The VAR Guy will be leaving New York and heading into enemy territory this June 18, when Red Hat hosts a media party at Fenway Park in Boston. Can our resident blogger — a “Native New Yawker” — put aside his distaste for Red Sox Nation long enough to generate some unbiased coverage of Red Hat? Before you answer, here’s a little more background on the situation.
The VAR Guy’s three sons are named Babe, Mickey and Donnie (middle name: Baseball, naturally). His estate’s sod is mowed each week in a pattern that displays the Yankee’s logo. (Of course, you have to be looking down from The VAR Guy’s ivory tower to see the pattern.)
Once, in a Little League game, The VAR Guy pitched high and inside to a kid named Carl … Apparently, the eight-year-old resembled Yaz a bit too much and was allegedly crowding the plate. (No ejections were issued, though Carl struck out!)
