Oracle’s Cloud Announcements: 5 Things You Didn’t Know

cloudopps

There is no denying that Oracle’s products are the building blocks for major companies when it comes to implementing their clouds. Now with our own Oracle Cloud, we can deliver “Oracle as a Service” from our Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). What you may not have known is that on Sept. 30, Judson Althoff, Oracle’s SVP of Worldwide Alliances and Channels, announced a major Oracle Cloud partner initiative that embraces partners of all types to profit with Oracle’s comprehensive portfolio of cloud offerings.

Whether building private clouds, delivering value-added services, reselling Oracle Cloud, or developing new cloud applications, partners have the ability to find their place in the cloud with these ‘Fab Five’ Oracle Cloud programs.

Oracle’s ‘Fab Five’ Cloud Programs:

Oracle Cloud Referral Program

This broad-based referral program for Oracle Cloud allows any of our 25,000 partners to immediately generate revenue simply by referring business to Oracle for Oracle Cloud services. To take part in this referral program and received a competitive referral fee, the only call-to-action for partners is to become an Oracle PartnerNetwork member if they aren’t already, and register their opportunity and mark their close date. Additionally, this referral program is an attractive entry point for partners to build their own revenue stream with the Oracle Cloud.

Oracle Cloud Specializations Featuring RapidStart

For each of our services in the Oracle Cloud we have introduced a new specialization which includes our RapidStart offering, enabling partners to present their own fixed-scope consulting service to implement Oracle Cloud services for their customers. Working in conjunction with Oracle Product Development, we have put together a “recipe” for enabling customers to quickly deploy Oracle Cloud services and are sharing these best practices with partners to take their own implementation package to market.

Oracle Cloud Resale Program for Partners

This resale program for Oracle Partners is a hybrid of our referral program and Oracle Cloud Specializations with Rapid Start. Partners that are Oracle Cloud Specialized have qualified to resell Oracle Cloud services at a discount off list. We want to reward partners that have taken advantage of our enablement and training programs to develop a deep skillset with the Oracle Cloud. So now Specialized VARs, MSPs and systems integrators can profit in the full lifecycle of the Oracle Cloud subscription including upsell and renewal benefits.

For partners that already have well-seasoned implementation and selling skills, such as Specialized SIs and VARs, they can resell our offerings in the first year and add on sales for additional services as well.

Oracle Cloud Builder Specialization

This new Cloud Builder Specialization for SIs rewards those partners that have developed a skillset across key Oracle products considered the gold standard used today in building private clouds. From servers and storage to database, middleware and engineered systems, this Cloud Builder Specialization will differentiate partners for their newly sharpened abilities, as well as drive opportunities to their organization since progressive customers continue to seek out cloud builders specifically.

Some prime candidates for our newly available Cloud Builder Specialization include our existing Specialized Hardware and Software partners.

Oracle Platform Services for ISVs

This PaaS offering enables ISVs to effectively test, develop and run in production their applications on our public cloud using Oracle as a PaaS. It also means faster application and development, lower cost and a faster time to market.

With more than 10,000 ISVs already certifying their product database, middleware and Java with Oracle, moving to Oracle PaaS means ISVs will be able to take the lead on pre-applications and then turn them into a service if they wish, allowing them to focus development efforts on where they should be adding value.

The sky is the limit when it comes to Oracle’s new cloud announcements. Watch Judson Althoff as he addresses how you can make this shift to Oracle’s Cloud.
