McAfee FOCUS 2011: New Partners, New Security Solution
As promised, day two of the McAfee FOCUS 2011 Security Conference featured new partner agreements and security solution announcements.
For starters, McAfee has teamed up with RSA, the security division of EMC, on a compliance and risk management solution that combines the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator platform with the RSA Archer eGRC Platform and the RSA Archer Enterprise Management solution to give enterprises greater visibility into the security and compliance status of their infrastructures. The solution was developed in response to growing security challenges for IT departments and security companies because they are being asked to manage more tools and data, according to the two companies.
“The integration allows organizations to utilize McAfee security managed products to manage system-level security while also incorporating data and findings from those products into their risk and compliance management processes within the RSA Archer eGRC Platform,” said Dave Anderson, McAfee senior director of Security Management. The McAfee-RSA joint solution is already available on the RSA Archer eGRC Exchange site.
Also announced at the show were additions to the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA). Internet Identity, NTR Global, Sypris Solutions and Trustware have all joined the alliance, designed to help members achieve four main goals:
- Accelerate the development of interoperable security products
- Simplify the integration of products with complex customer environments
- Deliver solutions to maximize the value of existing customer investments
- Reduce time-to-problem resolution to lower operational costs
There are more than 100 McAfee SIA members, all of which continue to work with McAfee to maximize the value of existing customer environments.
