Lenovo Ups the Ante on SAP Partnership

Lenovo is wasting no time on furthering its budding relationship with SAP following the recent announcement of several new solutions for the SAP HANA platform, including data warehousing and expanded memory capabilities.

Lenovo debuted its new integrations with SAP during the Sapphire Now conference last week in Orlando, where the company demonstrated three new solutions based on SAP HANA that were created with CSC, Bluefin and iOLAP. Lenovo also provided attendees with new info on its partnership with Nutanix regarding new features within the HX Series hyperconverged solutions for SAP Business Suite running on the SAP NetWeaver platform.

Straight from the press release, the full list of new SAP HANA features announced included:

  • A smart data-tiering solution for SAP Business Warehouse on SAP HANA

  • Expanded memory support for solutions running on SAP HANA

  • A preview of advancements in in-memory systems that utilize 128GB technology to drive performance advancements and scalability

  • A joint SCS solution with Lenovo x86 servers utilizing SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA and Cyber Security with Greenlight to reduce compliance risks

  • New IoT and wrist to cloud capabilities with Bluefin and SAP HANA

  • Joint Lenovo and iOLAP end-to-end implementation services for SAP HANA

  • Demonstrations of the Lenovo Converged HX Series hyperconverged solutions running workloads in SAP Business Suite applications for web-scale infrastructure.

“Our presence at SAPPHIRE NOW clearly demonstrates the compelling benefits of Lenovo’s truly open approach to creating data center solutions with SAP and other industry leaders,” said Brian Connors, vice president, Next Generation IT & Business Development, Data Center Group, Lenovo.  “By collaborating to innovate and solve problems free of legacy thinking, we are becoming our clients’ most trusted data center partner. We’re also enabling customers to harness the power of big data and real-time analytics to reinvent their businesses in the digital economy.”

In other SAP News, the company signed a new alliance with Microsoft (MSFT) last week during Sapphire Now that will allow the largest of HANA databases to run on the Microsoft Azure cloud. Earlier this month, Apple (APPL) also signed a partnership with SAP to bring iOS to the company’s customer base.
