The market for channel consulting services is getting pretty darn interesting — especially as key industry pundits make career moves. The latest example involves IPED veteran Ryan Morris (pictured), who is launching Morris Management Partners while maintaining a close relationship with IPED (Institute for Partner Education and Development). Here are the details.

Morris is a frequent speaker and well-known educator in the IT channel. And IPED, owned by Everything Channel, is among the best-known channel research, consulting and educational organizations.

According to an email from Morris:

“Morris Management Partners is a new company focused on services directly for solution providers / VARs / MSPs / etc., and other small channel companies.”

But it’s important to note: The new firm does not compete with IPED. In fact, Morris still has a relationship with IPED, where he’ll continue to deliver services that are not related to Morris Management Partners’ offerings, he says. Morris expects to launch a web site soon, but can be reached in the meantime via email: rmorris [at] morrismp.com.

Helping VARs and MSPs

Morris has a well-known personal brand. But that doesn’t mean he’s alone in the market assisting VARs and MSPs with their businesses. A lengthy list of coaches, experts and pundits now navigate the channel, helping VARs transition to managed services, among other key services.
