One touch is never enough, at least for Hewlett-Packard (HP) (NYSE: HPQ), which is expanding multitouch business applications across HP thin clients with Microsoft’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU.

Providing deployment of multitouch digital signage and kiosks, the HP t610 Flexible Thin Client with Windows Embedded Standard 7 includes enhanced security lockdown, enriched media capabilities and improved network management capabilities. The offering is aimed at businesses in the hospitality, banking and retail self-services markets and are looking to give their multitouch kiosks or digital displays a shot in the arm.

This HP-Windows combo provides additional benefits such as Windows Server BranchCache for wide area network optimization, which boosts network application performance (good for branch offices) and multilingual capabilities (good for your new headquarters in Beijing).

Rounding out the package is Microsoft DirectAccess, which makes it easier for customers to secure their remote workforce without the need for a virtual private network.

Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU comes preinstalled on the HP t610 Flexible Series Thin Clients and is currently available.

The number of embedded devices on intelligent networks is growing, security concerns are rising and, to top it off, customers are demanding a fluid, user-friendly interface to manage, be it for their employees or their own customers.

While multitouch capabilities are just one piece of solving this particular puzzle, anytime you can say “push-button technology” and quite literally mean it, you’re already one step ahead of the game.
