Grab the Rugged Opportunity
The VAR Guy is telling solutions providers to play close attention to the rugged device market. Sure, you already know about rugged handhelds from Symbol Technologies and laptops from Panasonic. But the opportunities don’t end there.
Smaller rugged vendors such as Catcher Inc. are pushing beyond the government vertical, hoping to promote rugged handhelds for healthcare, retail and warehouse applications. Catcher recently recruited James Newman as Active VP of Channel Sales to lead the company’s push into new verticals. The company certainly seems scrappy and hungry. When The VAR Guy called Catcher’s PR office on January 1, someone answered the phone within four rings.
Hmmm. The VAR Guy certainly loves his Mac notebook. But maybe it’s time to give all these rugged devices a try.
