Security management and risk analysis solutions specialist FireMon announced its flagship security policy and posture management solution, Security Manager, has been designated “McAfee Compatible” for its integration with McAfee Firewall Enterprise V8.

The recently updated Security Manager V6.0 integrates comprehensive risk analysis with configuration management, enforcement and auditing of network security devices such as firewalls, routers, switches and load balancers, while monitoring for and alerting on configuration changes.

Firewall Enterprise defends critical assets, such as regulated data repositories (customer, financial, and healthcare data), e-mail and web servers, extranets and data centers, as well as firewall capabilities powered by McAfee Global Threat Intelligence (GTI), including application visibility and deep application controls for defense.

The integration, which allows Security Manager to evaluate, visualize and simulate network attack paths, is designed to deliver a more complete configuration management solution to both FireMon and McAfee customers by combining high-assurance security with firewall management.

As networks grow more complex and threats become more sophisticated, so has grown the need for more robust and integrated network security management. The ability to quickly analyze and map specific risk scenarios can help security teams to better plan for change, and more effectively prioritize proactive efforts to defend critical information assets.

FireMon has also entered a sales teaming agreement in the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) partner program, an invite-only program whose members complement the McAfee product portfolio and enable the McAfee salesforce and channel to drive more complete security solutions with their enterprise customers.
