Distributor D&H To Donate to Hurricane Sandy Victims
D&H Distributing, joining ranks with solution providers and other distributors, will donate to Hurricane Sandy victims the value of 1 percent of orders placed on the first day of its sixth annual Fall Mid-Atlantic Technology Show, Nov. 7-9 in Hershey, Penn. The distributor will donate the funds through the American Red Cross for storm relief.
In addition, D&H will contribute 1 percent of any orders billed through its website or the D&H mobile app on Nov. 9 to the American Red Cross.
The distributor also is helping many of its resellers who have been affected by the storm to recover and get back to normal business operations, officials said. D&H’s headquarters are located in Harrisburg, Penn., which was out of the main path of the storm but still close to the heavily impacted areas in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the country.
“We’re shocked and saddened by the unexpected devastation that Hurricane Sandy has brought to our friends, neighbors, reseller customers and vendor partners in nearby New Jersey and New York, and beyond,” said Jeff Davis, D&H senior Sales vice president.
“It’s an honor to be able to extend our resources to the American Red Cross to help keep those victims safe, and to help get their homes and operations up and running again. Thanks in advance to our customer community for their support of this initiative.”
D&H, which regularly supports the American Red Cross not just with funding but also with food drives — such as donations from the distributor’s employee-run D&H Cares foundation — and warehouse space to store supplies in emergencies, is continuing to offer itself as a resource in this manner to help hurricane Sandy victims recover.
As for the distributor’s Fall Tech showcase, about 1,000 solution providers and VARs from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C., are expected to attend.
As communities victimized by Hurricane Sandy struggle to regain power and some footing, a number of IT solution providers and distributors have stepped up to provide needed services for their customers and others.
