Happy Friday, and welcome to this week’s Distribution Watch, our weekly peek at goings on in the disty world. This week we’ve got news from Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) and Carolina Wholesale, so grab your binoculars and focus, please.

Ingram Micro: The distribution giant has expanded its U.S. distribution agreement with Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) to include the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage and HP StoreOnce Backup systems.

These new HP Converged Storage solutions are available immediately to HP/Ingram Micro channel partners in the United States and are suited for virtualized, IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) and cloud environments. They can scale to meet the needs of companies of any size, from SMB to large enterprise and service providers, said Scott Zahl, vice president and general manager, Ingram Micro Advanced Computing Division, U.S.

The HP Converged Storage products are supported by the distributor’s HP Enterprise Group Division and Advanced Computing Division, which include dedicated HP field technical consultants, channel account managers and dedicated sales, technical support and marketing professionals.

“We’ve seen strong growth in our HP 3PAR business over the last six quarters and have invested significantly in the value-added resources, expertise and infrastructure to support these new solutions,” Zahl noted. “Storage is a high-growth solutions category and Ingram Micro is committed to delivering a robust portfolio of converged storage and value-add solutions to our channel partners.”

Carolina Wholesale: The office machine and supplies distributor has partnered with South Korea-based SINDOH Corp. to introduce and distribute a selection of SINDOH-branded laser multi-function products (MFPs). With the introduction of the SINDOH M402/403 and N707 laser multi-functions, Carolina Wholesale becomes a nationwide wholesale partner for SINDOH America with five distribution centers servicing dealers coast-to-coast.

The introduction of the M400 Series and N707 mono MFP products are just the first of many SINDOH innovations to be made available through SINDOH America in the coming months. Carolina Wholesale is actively pursuing office products dealers to become authorized SINDOH dealers and has already established a network of more than 50 dealers nationally.

And that’s this week’s Distribution Watch. Check back next week for more disty doin’s. Until then, don’t get caught looking.
