Distribution Watch: Arrow ECS, Ingram Micro, Tech Data
Happy Friday, and welcome to Distribution Watch, our far-from-complete look at what’s happening in the distribution space. This week our highlight roll includes Arrow ECS, Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) and Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD), so grab a snack and sit down — the show’s about to start.
Arrow ECS: The enterprise computing division of Arrow Electronics has added Mozy data access and backup technology, to jointly target small- and midsize-enterprise companies around the world. Arrow ECS also supports Mozy through the EMC Velocity Solution Provider Program to target corporate and enterprise customers.
Under the expanded agreement, Arrow will aggregate Mozy’s cloud services for secure data access and online backup. MozyPro online backup is available through Arrow’s new ArrowSphere cloud services platform.
“The extension of our relationship with Arrow represents what can be achieved with proven relationships and proven products,” said Simon Kingston, head of global partnerships at Mozy. “Mozy and Arrow enjoy a fruitful relationship for corporate sales through the EMC Velocity Program. We believe we can build on this through our expanded distribution relationship to bring benefits not only to value-added resellers, but also to their respective end-user customers as well.”
Mozy-branded services currently are available through the ArrowSphere platform in the United Kingdom. They will be rolled out in Denmark, France, Spain and Germany in September 2012. Mozy products also will be available in all other European markets that ArrowSphere will be opened to in the future.
Ingram Micro: The global distributor announced its inaugural Ingram Micro SMB 500, launched at the distributor’s 2012 “Turn the Tables” Fall SMB Invitational. The program is a live case study featuring 500 of Ingram Micro’s fastest growing U.S. channel partners who are focused on servicing the nation’s smallest businesses with 250 or less employees.
The 2012 Ingram Micro SMB 500 list was derived from the more than 20,000 U.S. solution providers and MSPs who work with Ingram Micro’s SMB Business Unit. The top 500 SMB-focused channel partners demonstrated a consistent, average three-year growth rate of more than 200 percent. The list also takes into account select criteria such as company size, overall technology category revenue growth and innovation with SMB business engagements.

Tech Data: Any-device secure computing vendor MokaFive has signed a distribution agreement with Tech Data to distribute MokaFive Express, MokaFive Suite and MokaFive for iOS software to its partner network throughout North America.
“The strength of Tech Data’s partner network and its focus on serving the desktop virtualization market — which includes government agencies, financial firms, healthcare organizations, the legal sector, insurance, oil, gas, mining and education — makes it a perfect partner to distribute MokaFive solutions,” said Bill Thompson, vice president, Worldwide Channels and Sales, MokaFive.
MokaFive’s new partner program will maximize lead opportunity and qualification for Tech Data resellers and solution providers. Beyond the traditional online resources, the program includes unique ROI analysis tools, co-marketing programs, lead generation and promotional email samples for every use case. The program is also designed to eliminate channel conflict and enhance sell-through with all license revenues flowing to the resellers that sign up and register deals.
