Dell’s plan is simple: Support the customer and their hardware. No more confusing warranties, and no more multiple-vendor juggling. Dell ProSupport is now supporting European customers who have hardware issues with IBM, HP, Acer or Lenovo laptops, desktops, servers and more. Rather than helping its competitors, Dell sees this as a way to create stickiness through all-encompassing support.

Yes, if you’re wondering, Dell does offer this kind of support in the United States, including hardware break/fix phone support. Dell apparently has seen success with this service, noting it ranked highest among support providers in the Overall Support Providers category of TBR’s Q1 2011 Customer Satisfaction Study.
