Data Storage Corp., Maximus Data Sign Reseller Deal

As Big Data and social media platforms put pressure on IT departments to handle the growing storage demands of businesses, Data Storage Corporation and Maximus Data Company have signed a VAR distribution agreement to help resellers offer organizations more complete data storage solutions.

Data Storage, a provider of data protection and business continuity solutions, will support Maximus’ data storage, virtualization and cloud computing offerings with its SafeData Cloud, SafeData DR and SafeData Backup, Recovery and Archiving services focused on IBM iSeries/AS400 systems.

IBM iSeries integrates relational database, security, Web services, networking and storage management capabilities, offering more than 5,000 business processing applications from 2,500-plus independent software vendors.

Maximus provides services ranging from sales and engineering to professional and financial offerings. The company’s offerings include data backup and storage, replication, high availability data replication services, e-mail archive and compliance solutions for e-discovery, continuous data protection, data de-duplication, virtualized system recovery and telecom recovery services.

Data Storage, meanwhile, offers its solutions and services to healthcare, banking and finance, distribution services, manufacturing, construction, education and government industries.

Earlier this month the company announced it had acquired 80 percent of Toronto-based e-ternity Business Continuity Consultants, which provides Web-based business continuance services using cloud computing technologies. The move was part of Data Storage’s business plan to position the company as a major player in cloud computing and data storage technology services.
