CompTIA announced the simultaneous launch of two new service programs aimed at helping partners develop new relationships and protect their investments.
The CompTIA Future Leaders Community is an initiative designed to connect IT professionals younger than 35 with industry veterans to foster communication and collaboration in the channel. The program is expected to help bridge the growing gap between longtime IT professionals and the rapidly increasing number of Millennials entering the workforce.
“They’re our digital generation and we can learn a lot from them,” said Nancy Hammervik, senior vice president, Industry Relations at CompTIA, in a statement. “They don’t think they know it all. They want mentorship. They want to learn about the channel and the industry; about how to conduct themselves in a business environment; and how to put themselves on a fast track for career advancement.”
The program currently has 50 members, with CompTIA looking to expand the organization to develop better relationships in the channel community. The group is expected to explore issues ranging from how channel companies can leverage a multi-generational workforce as well as changing IT consumption patterns for end users and the need for new executive leadership.
CompTIA also launched its Legal Services Program, which promises to provide premier members with access to legal services such as free key benefits and services purchased through a transparent fee structure.
The program is CompTIA’s first professional service benefit and is only open to premier members in the United States. InfoTech Law Advocates will be responsible for providing legal services through the program.
Benefits available through the program include complimentary risk assessment and a company annual report filing service, in addition to a one-hour free legal consultation.
CompTIA premier partners also will have access to complimentary calls with ITLA legal professionals and guaranteed best prices on all ITLA legal services offered through the program, according to the announcement.
“It is hard work for an IT service provider to find reliable and competent legal advisors who are not only affordable, but get their business and understand the challenges and legal implications IT can place on an organization,” said Dan Liutikas, managing attorney of ITLA and chief legal officer for CompTIA. “We saw these struggles within the CompTIA membership and knew together we could provide a service that would help our entrepreneurs achieve success and be more confident and comfortable with the legal aspects of the business.”
