channel partner program roundup

If it’s Thursday then it’s time for the Channel Partner Program Roundup, our weekly collection of goings on in the channel partner space. This week we’ve got news from Alvarion (NASDAQ: ALVR), Paranet and QLogic (NASDAQ: QLGC), so saddle up, hombre. We’ve got news to round up.

Alvarion: The global provider of optimized wireless broadband solutions has enhanced its Alvarion Partner Program and portal, including new partnership options, online certifications, incentives and deployment modulation tools for its channel partners, alliance partners and distribution partners.

As part of the enhancements, Alvarion is launching an unique Expert Partner program, which is designed for highly specialized system integrators that demonstrate expertise in deploying complex wireless broadband networks in specific vertical markets. The program will facilitate a market place allowing unique information sharing between non-competing segment specific partners worldwide to break into new markets more effectively.

The company also launched a Consultant program, enabling consultants to receive in-depth instruction of Alvarion’s products and solution and actually use the tools without any commercial commitment or requirement.

The enhanced Partner Portal delivers a personalized experience where users can customize their dashboard based on specific needs and preferences. The Portal allows partners to access marketing resources from any device by product or market segment. Additionally, it facilitates promotions, warranty activation, a technical resource center and more.

Available in the new Partner Portal:

  • Qualified leads and lead management

  • Online sales tool – video capacity, business case and cost-savings calculators

  • Deal registration with commercial benefits

  • Online sales training & certifications – on-demand training modules, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, giving partners increased control over their training and development

  • Starter Kits and Promotions

Paranet: David Boone, a longtime corporate executive with experience in industries ranging from retail to media and health care, has been named CEO of Paranet, an international provider of IT outsourcing and CRM solutions.

In his new role, Boone will work to drive synergies among Paranet’s three core businesses–managed and professional services, IT staffing and recruitment and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)–“to empower companies of all sizes with a proven, higher level of care,” according to the company.

“I have many ideas to build upon Paranet’s strong foundation of customer-focused services and solutions,” Boone said. “Our managed services, IT staffing and CRM solutions groups are forged together into a strong base that empowers our client businesses to grow. Each and every employee here is excited to be part of that growth, and I am eager to lead this motivated team.”

Most recently, Boone served as senior vice president of Innovation and Retail Health Services at Methodist Health System, where his responsibilities included packaging and developing Methodist’s innovative employee health and wellness initiatives for employers and insurers.

QLogic: The data center infrastructure vendor has expanded its Signature Partner Program with the addition of the Advanced Solutions Partner tier. The new top-level partner tier is designed to support an expanding solutions portfolio, offering partners the skills, training and tools to successfully deploy and support new high-margin data center connectivity technology sales as well as exclusive access to top-level program benefits and resources, according to the company.

Participating channel partners receive all the same program benefits as QLogic Platinum Partners plus access to targeted marketing, sales and technical enablement programs. Advanced Solutions Partners receive in-depth technical and sales training; qualified end-user leads; dedicated technical sales support; access to QLogic’s Solutions lab; early access to demonstration units and beta testing programs and more.

QLogic also enhanced the program benefits for its Gold and Platinum Signature Partners, including a new prequalified leads based on a partner’s addressable core market and vertical market expertise. Eligible partners will receive increased access to a dedicated sales account manager who can assist with resources needed to close deals.

And that’s this week’s Channel Partner Program Roundup. Tune in next week for our pre-Christmas roundup. Until then, keep those lassos spinning.
