CA Enlists Channel for ARCserve Competitive Upgrade
CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) will kick back up to $5,000 per order or $700 per license to end users that replace competitors’ installed data backup and recovery technology with the vendor’s ARCserve. The deal is confined to users in North America, must be handled by a CA channel partner and applies to a specific list of targeted products from competitors, including Symantec, CommVault, Veeam and Acronis.
“With data volume growing, budgets tight and tolerances for data loss approaching zero, companies of all shapes and sizes are ready to make a change when it comes to how they do backup and recovery,” said Steve Fairbanks, CA vice president, Data Management.
CA is doing well to insist that the competitive displacements be administered through channel partners. Tying a short-term promotion to business-building and account servicing is the stuff of enduring channel loyalty, especially if partners use ARCserve to catalyze delivery of additional, custom services to end customers.
“With our new competitive upgrade program, CA Technologies is reducing the cost of making this change, allowing customers to substantially improve the performance, scalability, reliability and cost-efficiency of their data protection processes,” said Fairbanks.
Separately, CA named Digital Celerity a Premier Partner under the developer’s Global Partner Program, an umbrella structure rolled out in April. Premier members have access to dedicated sales support, enablement, assigned account management and market and business development funds.
Digital Celerity, based in San Francisco, is a project and portfolio management (PPM) specialist. The company offers CA’s suite of IT service management (ITSM) solutions either on-premise or on-demand, coupled with its own ITSM services and CA’s Clarity PPM product suite.
As a CA Premier partner, Digital Celerity will have access to the latest CA content, such as new product releases, sales tools, training and marketing support.
