AT&T Opens APIs to Solution Providers in New Partner Program

AT&T (NYSE: T) is opening up the kimono to solution providers with a new channel partner program, granting access to its application programming interfaces (APIs) and providing visibility to its systems, process and tools to those interested in developing customized solutions for business customers in concert with the carrier.

The program, called AT&T Partner Exchange, aims to attract new partners to the fold, expand relationships with its existing network of 700 solution providers, and help those partners tap into new sales in collaboration with AT&T. The idea is to help solution providers craft solutions in mobility managed services, cloud and networking that fully integrate with AT&T’s IP network.

Target partners include IT consultants and services experts. AT&T is particularly interested in channel partners that deliver complete solutions to businesses by mixing and matching technologies from a variety of vendors while adding industry-specific value to the transaction.

“We’re throwing open the doors to our center of innovation–the AT&T Foundry–and inviting solution providers to work directly with us to create more choices for business customers,” said Brooks McCorcle, AT&T Emerging Business Markets organization president. The organization was established within AT&T Business Solutions.

“Through this new approach and collaboration with solution providers, we expect to rapidly expand our market reach and deliver more tailor-made cloud, mobility managed services and networking solutions to companies across a number of industries,” she added.
