Amazon Web Services Eases Database Management
Amazon Web Services improves its offering incrementally yet again with the announcement that they’ve added support for their Relational Database Service (RDS) in the AWS Management Console, allegedly making it easier for VARs to launch and manage databases in the cloud. Here’s the scoop.
The AWS Management Console now supports launching database instances — including the new, higher-resiliency Multi-AZ deployments — taking database snapshots, and viewing vital statistics like free storage space and latency, directly from the browser, according to their blog entry.
A simple, obvious step, to be sure. But points to Amazon Web Services regardless for making it easier to manage Amazon RDS MySQL database deployments.
