TBI, CNSG Sign Canada-Based TeraGo

  • Written by James Anderson

TeraGo is a 5G provider in Canada.

Master agents CNSG and TBI signaled a foray into Canada by partnering with TeraGo Networks.

Toronto-based TeraGo provides cloud, colocation and connectivity services. It’s CNSG’s first Canadian gold supplier partner, joining Acuity, Windstream, Star2Star and several other vendors.

“We are very happy to announce our partnership with TeraGo,” said Randy Friedberg, CNSG’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “TeraGo has a long history of supporting Canadian businesses with its dedicated fiber and wireless networks and private cloud/colocation solutions. Our partnership will enable CNSG partners to utilize TeraGo’s robust suite of products and provide additional solutions to address the needs of their international customers.”

Here’s our most recent list of important channel-program changes you should know.

TeraGo runs a dedicated national fiber and fixed wireless network and five data centers in Canada. The 19-year-old company holds more licensed 24GHz and 38GHz spectrum than any other Canadian company and has run 5G fixed wireless trials on the 24GHz band.

CNSG offers a stable of agents that will help TeraGo expand its reach. The vendor serves about 3,000 business customers.

“With TeraGo’s nationwide reach and capabilities in the hands of CNSG’s community of partners, both Canadian business and global companies with a Canadian presence will benefit if they are looking to advance their company’s digital transformation,” said Blake Wetzel, TeraGo’s chief revenue officer. “The combination looks to break new ground in opening up an agent market that has not historically been experienced in Canada. In addition to the portfolio of traditionally available technologies, TeraGo’s spectrum of assets has the potential to provide a portfolio of next-generation solutions, including those related to 5G to businesses.”

CNSG works with more than 130 suppliers in platinum, gold, silver and authorized.

TeraGo at the same time teamed up with Chicago-based TBI, which is also building its Canadian presence. The master agent signed Canada-based Shaw Communications to an agreement last year.

“We are very pleased to be adding TeraGo to our impressive portfolio of vendors. This partnership will help TBI bring to our partners and their customers with Canadian operations a solid cloud, network and connectivity options with short implementation time frames,” TBI president Geoff Shepstone said. “This relationship also affords our selling partners the ability to assist their customers with digital transformation initiatives, present alternative technology solutions, and help their customers save money on their existing architecture — all while enabling cloud access and computing.”

TBI describes TeraGo as well-versed in assisting midsize businesses. The new supplier agreement gives TBI and its partners new resources for 5G technology as well as a combination of networking, colocation and cloud services.

“TBI’s partnership and its industry-leading innovation and superior support model will break new ground in the Canadian business community,” Wetzel said. “Bringing the unmatched capabilities of TeraGo and our focus on differentiated service to TBI’s agent community will benefit IT buyers and agents throughout North America.”

Wetzel’s name rings a bell for most channel folks. The former CenturyLink and Rackspace channel chief left his consulting business to join TeraGo earlier this year.
