Vidyo, Mitel Expand Partnership: Here's What You Need to Know

Vidyo has integrated its VidyoWorks video communication platform into the Mitel (MITL) MiCollab audio, web and video conferencing services portfolio. Here's everything you need to know.

Vidyo has integrated its VidyoWorks video communication platform into the Mitel (MITL) MiCollab audio, web and video conferencing services portfolio.

The Hackensack, New Jersey-based video conferencing and collaboration solutions provider has expanded its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Mitel, allowing Mitel to leverage Vidyo's application programming interfaces (APIs) "to embed multi-point video, audio and collaboration features inside various Mitel solutions."

Vidyo said the VidyoWorks integration broadens Mitel partners' addressable market and encourages the channel to respond to the increasing user demand for video communication services.

"We are pleased to partner with Mitel on this expanded relationship to answer the demands of existing customers, sustain and grow new global deployments and help win market share in verticals like healthcare and financial services," Vidyo CEO Eran Westman said in a prepared statement

Vidyo and Mitel originally began working together in June 2013.

At that time, the companies focused on delivering a cloud-based telepresence offering that combined Vidyo's HD video and telepresence products with Mitel's unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) portfolio.

In addition, Vidyo continues to explore other partnerships.

Vidyo in August announced a partnership with business intelligence (BI) software provider Verint Systems (VRNT) designed to enable businesses "to bring greater insight into customer interactions by integrating video calls using the VidyoWorks platform with Verint's engagement management and voice recording solutions."
