Distribution Watch: Westcon, Tech Data, Arrow Electronics

Happy Friday, Distribution Watchers! This week we’ve got some groovy updates from Westcon, Tech Data (TECD) and Arrow Electronics (ARW). Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Westcon: The New York-based distributor is upgrading its security solutions portfolio with a new distribution agreement with network security solution provider FireMon. The deal will give Westcon’s North American partners access to FireMon’s portfolio of security intelligence solutions.

FireMon’s portfolio includes the FireMon Security Intelligence Platform, the company’s solution for enterprise network protection, as well as the FireMon Security Manager solution.

“Our Security Solutions Practice arms partners and their customers with not only the right tools, but the business solutions necessary to minimize this risk,” said Andrew Warren, vice president of Security Solutions in North America, Westcon, in a statement. “FireMon is a perfect addition to this strong portfolio, creating the framework necessary for companies to make intelligent, informed decisions that enact security countermeasures in real-time.”

Tech Data: The distributor announced an exclusive agreement with Microsoft (MSFT) to offer select mobile device accessories to retailers and solution providers in the United States, including portable power solutions, wireless charging devices, Blutooth headsets and more.

The products will be distributed through the Tech Data Mobile Solutions division. The solutions will also be available to Tech Data’s European partners.

"Tech Data Mobile Solutions delivers complete end-to-end mobile solutions to enable solution providers from the device to the data center," said Patrick Stokes, vice president, Tech Data Mobile Solutions. “As a leader in consumer electronics, Tech Data enables productivity-enhancing solutions for use at home, on the go, at school, in the car and at work."

Arrow Electronics: Arrow recently added Oracle Cloud services to its global distribution offerings. Oracle decided to offer its cloud services through the channel to broaden its market reach and help the partner community to extend its sales opportunities and revenue potential in the cloud, according to the announcement.

The agreement will allow Arrow to offer Oracle’s complete portfolio of applications, cloud services and enablement software through the ArrowSphere platform.

“Given Arrow’s longstanding, global relationship with Oracle, we are delighted to deliver Oracle cloud solutions to our North American solution provider community,” said Sean Kerins, president of Arrow’s Global Enterprise Computing Solutions business. “This addition aligns well to our strategy to provide a robust cloud portfolio, including SaaS solutions that address key business needs.”

We hope you enjoyed catching up on all the latest distributor news, and remember to join us again next week for more updates. In the meantime, keep on distributing.
