RingCentral, which provides cloud-based VoIP to SMBs, took time out late last week to highlight the success of its partner program, claiming 500 VARs, MSPs and other channel pros have already signed on to resell its products. That's an even more impressive figure when you realize the company just opened its doors for the IT channel in September 2010.
Unsurprisingly, RingCentral's press release credits the company's innovative approach to partnership with the program's success. Its solution, which is aimed at bringing all the benefits of enterprise telephony to the smallest of businesses for a fraction of the cost, enables a savvy service provider to get customers up and running quickly and easily.
To wit, here's what RingCentral CEO Vlad Shmunis had to say in a prepared statement:
“With our industry-leading cloud-based solution, partners are excited that they can setup and completely activate a business phone system for their clients within an hour. This is a large contrast to legacy on-premise hardware PBX boxes that are very expensive, have long sales cycles, take weeks to deploy and do not provide the opportunity for partners to earn residual income quickly.”
The residual income Shmnuis refers to has to do with setup, maintenance and other value-added services that RingCentral is promoting as revenue-boosting options for their reseller base.
